Pork Chop’s Way offers a wide range of training programs conducive to your busy schedule and your dog’s needs. All training programs involve the use of a clicker, a training tool used to associate and reward desired behaviors.
*Optional: All training programs can be customized to adhere to the standards of the American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Program, a two-part program designed to reward good behavior at home and in the community. Your dog will receive a certificate from the AKC upon completion of the 10-step CGC test.
Basic training: Includes five weekly, hour and a half private lessons to learn and master the basic behavioral commands (sit, stay, off, let’s go, come, and leave it), plus leash-walking. Twenty minutes of exercise is included at the onset of every lesson. This program offers the training essentials and does require consistent reinforcement at home of lessons learned. The total for the program is $475.
Training daycare: Includes five weekly, hour and a half private lessons to learn and master the basic behavioral commands (sit, stay, off, let’s go, come, and leave it), plus leash-walking. Ample exercise consisting of three weekly hour and thirty minute, 2.5 mile group hikes is included. As exercise combats excess energy (especially in puppies), this program creates the ideal mindset for training; it does require consistent reinforcement at home of lessons learned.
The total for the program is $1000.
Board n’ train: Includes two weeks of extensive training and boarding, followed by two weekly, hour and a half private lessons. Daily exercise consisting of hour and thirty minute, 2.5 mile group hikes is included. This program is designed for the busy owner who has limited time to reinforce training tactics at home—your dog returns fully trained!
Daily group hikes are included during the two week boarding period; they can be added on for $25 per day during the following two week private lesson period.
The total for the program is $1,800.
Customized training: Includes an initial consultation, followed by the development of a customized training program. This program is designed for dogs that suffer from behavioral problems (phobias, destructive behavior, anxiety, aggression, etc.) or have special needs.
Initial consult fee is $95; $95 per hour as needed thereafter (estimate provided upon consultation).
Hourly Training Lesson Rate is $95.
Daily Off Leash Group Hikes* - services include hour and thirty minute, 2.5 mile daily group hikes through the woods that provide plenty of exercise, interaction, and exploration for your dog. As a bonus, your dog will learn the basic behavioral commands (sit, stay, off, let’s go, come, and leave it) in tandem with the daily hiking excursions. Pickup and drop-off is included.
Rate is $35 per day
*All dogs interested in the group hikes must have initial evaluation. Spaces limited. Waiting list available!

Doggie Daycare (indoor & outdoor) - We provide a clean, fun place for your dog to socialize and play with other dogs (and humans) during weekday business hours. Simply drop your pet off and our friendly, dog-loving staff will take it from there. While you take care of work, shopping, errands, or whatever your schedule requires, your pet is playing and getting lots of TLC. We provide our guests with physical and verbal praise for good behavior and like to give them lots of back scratches and belly rubs.
Going to dog daycare anywhere from once a week to 5 times a week will benefit your furry friend whether he/she needs more physical activity, better social skills, or play buddies. We also assist with house training and socializing puppies.
When you pick up your pet at the end of the day, he/she will be ready to go home and relax with your family after a full, fun day at dog daycare. No more pent-up energy as you sit down to read the paper. No more waking you up in the middle of the night. You'll have a pooped pup that is happy to curl up nearby. Sounds good, doesn't it?
Rate is only $25 per day (a 20% discount is applied to 2nd dog or multi-dog families).

Dog Boarding services include an loving indoor home environment, plus a fenced-in backyard for your dog to roam and play during supervised intervals. Hour and thirty minute, 2.5 mile daily group hikes are also included while boarding.
Dogs are not crated, unless that is your preference. Pickup and drop-off is included if convenient to location of daily group hikes; otherwise, a $10 roundtrip fee will be added. Food for the length of your dog’s stay is required.
Rate is $65 per day for board and hike | $50 per day for just boarding
(a 50% deposit is required, with a 48 hour cancellation period for full deposit refund; a 20% discount is applied to 2nd dog or multi-dog families).
